(4,076 posts)Flowers I understand. They use color to attract insects and birds, and nectar to bribe them, so the flying organisms will carry pollen to other flowers.
But why butterflies? I'd think a drab butterfly would avoid predators better than a butterfly with beautiful colors.
Are the butterflies hell bent on attracting each other so they can copulate?
