Anyone remember the guy who built a lawn chair airship and went up 16,000 feet?

On July 2, 1982, Larry Walters attached 41 helium balloons to a lawn chair in San Pedro, California and reached a height of 16,000 feet. Several airline pilots reported seeing a guy in a lawn chair sailing into the Long Beach Airport controlled flight path. Amazingly he survived the flight and was immediately arrested when he landed. When asked by a member of the press why he’d done it, he answered “a man just can’t sit around”.
