I was at the neighborhood poker game.
I lost track of how much money I had.
I figured that I could count it later, after the dealing was done.
The game ended sooner than I expected.
Turns out I didn't have enough money left for cab fare.
I had to walk home.
It started poring down rain.
My favorite suede jacket got ruined.
Fuck you Kenny Rogers, and your dumbass advice.

(3,502 posts)that advice only applied if you knew when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. Apparently there were some deficiencies in that area last night.

I'm glad you made it home.
Isn't there any way a dry cleaner can help your jacket?

(23,384 posts)... money that is better spent staking revenge at the next neighborhood poker game.
I was quoted $50 to clean a plain leather jacket. It was old and beaten, so I decided it didn't really need cleaning.

Long walk from Hapeville to Forest Park. My father would have killed the guy!

(1,569 posts)Not only do the successful poker players know exactly how much they have at all times, they have a pretty good idea of how much each and every person at the table has, how much they've won/lost, and how much that pleases/bothers them. Poker is ALL about getting every bit of info you can...willfully keeping yourself ignorant is not smart poker.
