I sat down to write one last week. I thought it would only be a few things. I ended up with 140 things. I ran out of space on the paper for any more things. Many of them were small things that could be done in a day or a week. Some of them were cheap to do or even free. I never realized how many little things I've wanted to do but haven't tried yet.

(4,266 posts)It has become apparent over the years that it may be degenerative, if gradually so. I'm only 28, so it has plenty of opportunity. My last big 'hit' was in October, and that one showed me that if I don't want to regret failing to do something, now's the time to get my business in order.
So, I have a list. One of the high numbers is to get past my social phobia enough to discuss the rigors of disability before some sort of government panel. Maybe it'll make a difference for those who are suffering. I live in Florida, and while Alan Grayson is not in my district, maybe he could help make my wish come true. Just a matter of figuring out how to contact him directly.

Working on a new one - a decent unexpected inheritance allowed me recently to renew my life with hope.
Was a poor guy living in a trailer with no services since mid 2009.
Got my driver's licence back (old fines) bought a vehicle, and a home - all within the last 6 weeks.
Haven't made a written list yet, but there's more - gonna get me a dog, a small ATV -(28 acres in the bush, it'll come in handy) - Riding lawnmower, snow-blower and so on - -
Put enough money into a trust to guarantee me a decent income til my old age pension kicks in in 2015.
Everything is paid for, and will not buy anything on credit. Cut up my credit cards in 1980 - no intention of changing that.
I can live quite comfortably on my pensions, provided I do not get into the credit thing.
Still in culture shock here - It is a totally unexpected change for the better for me.
