The price of a laptop battery varies dramatically.

Just an FYI. My HP laptop needed a replacement battery -- it no longer held enough charge to be of any value whatsoever, and the "primary internal" battery, all part of the same unit, was totally dead, so the date and time would reset every time the laptop was unplugged from AC power.

HP wanted almost $100 for the replacement. I found an OEM replacement from Amazon.com for $22.

It pays to spend a few minutes comparing prices online.

They only last for so long. Make sure you're getting a factory NEW unit, not a "refurbished" one. The latter simply means "charged".
