... and at one point, realizing that (at the time) they hadn't been fit to be parents,
kinda dumped him on their neighbor -- a totally vision-impaired woman who did
an EXCELLENT job of raising him.

I met her when she was in her 70's and she STILL was interesting and interested
and adventurous and filled with more life and positive energy than many
acquaintances I've known who were in their 20's. I immediately loved this woman.

She and I happened to be visiting my BIL during one of my birthdays and she bought
me an elegant-in-its-simplicity black leather magnetic money clip because "I liked
the way it feels".

Over the decades, I've gotten some wonderful and impressive gifts -- but this is the
one that still touches me the deepest.
