Fifteen episodes in and I finally get Lena Dunham.

I wanted to like the show Girls because, I guess, I so needed to still be in with the next best thing.

Now usually I would not stick something out this long with little to no pay off. And let's face it, a 55 year old shut in man watching a show written and acted by young woman who I really have no business watching. But in my defense, there was a buzz about this show that was almost irresistible for someone, like me, who has a whole lot of free time on their hands.

So I didn't really feel all that creepy especially since not one of these young women put any kind of dent in my libido.

I almost gave up on the shows as Game of Thrones nudged Girls out of the mix.

So I happen to notice tonight that I had only a few more days of Girls on demand before they were taken off the HBO rotation.

I'm so glad that I did. Finally, Lena Dunham dropped the angst ridden to be a hipster or not persona and let out the true essence of Hannah. She is just as vulnerable and scared and wanting all the stuff we all want, to be happy. The way she blurted this all out while enjoying a one weekend stand to a 42 year old doctor was so human and so touching that I was prepared to actually like her again.

Anyway, maybe it's creepy for an old man to watch a show called Girls, but there are so few shows about I take my cues from the critics. So call me creepy but I know am almost ready to kind of sort of root for Hannah and her band of sisters who have all come to New York to find excitement love and life.

It's not Woody Alclen's NYC, the one I fell under the spell of for more than 25 years, but it will do. Besides in the long run, Lena Dunham's NY is just fine.

1. I say, whatever makes you sit up and take notice, is just fine.

And if there's artistry, and good writing and good acting, so much the better.

I don't think it's creepy at all. Who cares who the target audience is anyway?
