Hey Austinites
What was the name of the show and the host of the show on ACTV (community cable) in the mid 90s where the host sat at a desk with the beatles album cover (with all the plastic baby dolls) displayed. He was a self proclaimed reverend who looked a bit like a child molester. He would talk about abortion and how the liberals are evil and the republican party was great. He loved the beatles music that came out before rubber soul and revolver because after that he said they became drug freaks or something. He would sometimes have his little daughter come out and she would play bass and he would play guitar and they would do beatles' covers.
Anyone remember this show? I think it was called "Babies to Beatles" or something like that but I can't find anything in google searches.

(17,291 posts)I remember the host sometimes wore a toilet seat around his neck, never quite figured out why.
You might try contacting Channel Austin (successor to ACTV) to see if anyone remembers it.

(9,859 posts)....after more googling I turned up the name of the show ---- "sex and beetlemania".
on youtube, I found short snippets of the show in videos showing funny prank calls to the various actv shows of the 90s.

(17,291 posts)Probably because it was my show.
I kind of miss strangers coming up to me in HEB and saying "Hey! You're that crazy guy on TV!"

(9,859 posts)...what years were you on?

(17,291 posts)Ran from about 1989 to 1995. We did an hour-long show once a month called Alive and Dangerous. That started out as basically an excuse to just run amuck on TV because no one could stop us. Later we became a bit more focused on doing parodies of other access shows, as well as having recurring comedic segments. We would edit the live show down into a half hour called Hi Density TV and that got a fair bit of airplay.
People came and went, eventually we began to run out of gas as folks decided raising families was more important that being access TV stars. That's how dreams die and people like Alex Jones take over the channels.
