Is meth rampant where you live?

Seems like the police are busting 2 or 3 labs a week here in coastal Alabama.
They're everywhere.
I guess it's fairly easy to cook it up.

One was in a Holiday Inn.
Guests reported 'odd odors' to the management who contacted police.

Many are in mobile homes in remote areas.
And many have explosions that annihilate the trailer.
Meth is called 'Redneck Cocaine' down here.

there must have been 7 computers in there. Lots of electronics.

They took all the cleaning supplies.

The did take one small scanner - though there were 7 or 8. The small crappy copier. Oh - and the big screen tv... (my boss likes to watch the news - NOT FOX! ) And they trashed the place.

Cleaning supplies. Really.

Especially stolen vehicles. I don't get what it's all about yet. It sure is a freaky trend. I have other ways of getting high and most of them are legal. But this is a whole other animal.

And yes, I think this crap is everywhere.

The was a recent bust of a mobile meth lab in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, that was parked in the parking lot of (I'm not making this up)... USA Drugs!

People who use it smell like old, cat urine and the labs smell like sweet solvents and acrid chemicals, I smelled both last year. There was a house explosion up near us a couple years ago, but I understand that was a gas leak. Meth is just bad news.

for meth production. In fact, last year, a house was blown up because of crystal meth production. The blast killed 2 children.

Got up one morning and every parking space on the street and side streets was taken. I thought there was something going on at the high school two blocks away (streets filled up every time there was a graduation / registration / etc).

But it had nothing to do with the high school. It was the FBI and DEA.

They set up a tent in the driveway...computer for logging in the evidence, guys in HazMat suits. They brought out box after box after box (nondescript boxes that they used to transport the stuff).

The process took two days and then they had one of these "industrial cleaning" companies come out that cleans meth labs from top to bottom.

They were not manufacturing it in the house, but they were storing it and transporting it. I'd seen people in the house coming and going at odd hours...between midnight and 6 AM, and they would be loading / unloading their trucks, but I never thought anything of it. I knew these people were no good but did not suspect that it was a meth lab.

Not good.

Meth is the one drug that no sane wo/man could possibly be cavalier about. Kids have died just from sniffing discarded soda bottles alongside the road.

Apparently, small amounts can be made in a two litre bottle in just a short period of time. It's pretty common to read about meth busts in the paper.

I've heard it's subsided a bit since they made it harder to buy over-the-counter Sudafed in drugstores, but they still bust meth labs fairly often out in the country.

It used to be #1 was California, then Oklahoma, the Arkansas. I don't know if that is still true. We just had two incidents here with someone actually making meth in a Wal-Mart! Not getting the products...MAKING IT!

No, rather non-existent AFAIK. DC has drug problems to be sure but meth's not really a local flavor. DC's a coke town.

I've seen it around in Los Angeles, Honolulu, and Portland. I've had friends and family who were addicted. It is a destroyer of life.

In Hawaii, it is either called ice or batu.
