(13,324 posts)I scored 147 on a scale that only went up to 150.
My overall score, though, was a somewhat less impressive 130, since my non-verbal was barely above average (105). I have one of those weird "split brains" with highly inconsistent strengths and deficits.

(6,154 posts)I've never had myself tested despite a heck of a lot of people calling be brilliant or gifted or whatever over the years. IQ tests show that you are good at, taking IQ tests. There are many other measures of intelligence that we could use just as well that we don't, for example EQ, music proficiency, artistic ability (which can't really be quantified) etc... Besides which the way our society is structured intelligence doesn't mean a heck of a lot. Studies have been done that show that most of the CEOs of the worlds large companies were C students at best. Our society honours those who are hard headed or ruthless, go-getters and communicators. Sociopaths can do very well. Don't get me wrong smarts count for something but they are only a small piece of the puzzle. A heck of a lot of smart people fall through the cracks and are never recognized or are actively discriminated against. You'd be surprised how many people on welfare or on the street are smarter than you would imagine (though I suspect many on DU wouldn't be surprised).

(6,154 posts)Well it's cool to be 31 in some ways I suppose. Not so much when you aren't there emotionally.

(14,910 posts)Too young to 'get off my lawn' and too old to understand WTF is wrong with my younger peers.
...and I'm perfectly content with that.

(20,176 posts)I'm 33 chronologically...but I have this rule where I ask attractive stranger women on my birthday how old they think I am and whatever answer I get is my age.
I'm 25.
Still.
Probably until I grow middle-aged, 50ish. I was 18 from chrono-13 to chrono-22.
You know what they say, you're only as old as the person you're feeling up.

(56,912 posts)so then, just how YOUNG a person would you feel up then, Chan790?

(20,176 posts)If they're old enough to flirt with me and legally buy their own drinks.
No, really...I try not to date women younger than their mid-to-late-20s, it's just weird to date someone who was in elementary school when you graduated HS. My kid brother has this long-time friend who flirts with me constantly...it's just too strange because the first time I met her she was 13-14 and in his 7-12-grade drama class when I was in college. She's a very-pretty 24 year old model and actress now but she's also still a kid doing a monologue as Anne Frank in my head.
See, I have good ethics. It shocks even me sometimes...but I can be a moral and decent person.
Tuesday Afternoon
(56,912 posts)is that it shocks you.
anyway this leads to the really pedantic question:
is feeling up a euphemism for dating? or would you feel up someone that you wouldn't date?
