OK, now it's just us.
I'm re-reading (listening actually, which is why I have so many questions; it's easy to miss something and not so easy to turn the page back).
Do we ever find out who Cold Hands is? I just reread the part where he rescues Sam and Gilly, on his big ole moose. First time I read I thought it must be Benjen Stark, although now I wonder if maybe it was Mormont. Does any book reveal this, and describe how he came to be?
I have more questions but for now that's the one.
And for a bonus, a trivia question: what was Mormont's dying wish?

I guess I didn't interpret it as punishment, but rather the last thing he could do to make his father proud. LOL.
But I think you are correct. 
though, many think it is Benjen Stark, since it's apparent that Cold Hands must have been a member of the Night's Watch at some time. I'd suggest going and doing a search on the forums of westeros.org - I'm guessing they've had several threads of 300+ posts discussing the issue (beating dead horses...)
I believe Mormont's dying wish was for Sam to tell Jorah Mormont that he forgave him and that he wanted him to return.
