When we first watched it I would get to the "Stop! I can't breathe!" point. John Cleese is a genius.

I know it's a cult classic and has had a huge influence. Didn't they only make something like 13 episodes?

The Brits voted it the best comedy series ever. You have to find a way to watch it. You won't regret it.

Click on the episode you want to watch. On the individual episode page, click on the little yellow button that says "More links". This brings up various links where you can watch that episode. The first link is gorillavid which works the best for me though sometimes it takes a little while for the video to get started depending on the time of day it is (daytime and weekends are busiest). After each episode is watched you can go back to the episode list and chose the next one. I don't know why but they list the episodes in reverse order so the first one is at the bottom of the page.

He is so tall and thin that he is able to use his legs to great hilarity.

I have nothing much to add to the thread but I am incapable of letting Fawlty Towers praise go without piling on the love.

Haven't watched any in a long time.

Damn, only DVD...probably ok for FT though

I was attending a meeting in Belgium, with a bunch of folks from all over Europe. At a restaurant one evening, over a delicious dinner of mussels, the one German woman was expressing her opinion somewhat forcefully (though politely). The Englishman across the table from me muttered "Don't mention the war". I whispered back "I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it".

We became the best of friends for the rest of the week. He had no idea that Americans had a sense of humor (or humour!).

And Basil goes into his room and doesn't realize it. Then, there's the usual coverup that gets totally out of hand.

Loved it so much that I got them on disc. I've watched them over and over and never stop laughing. I can't understand why they did so few episodes and then canned the show. It was great.
