When your SO goes out of town, what kinds of food do you eat?

Me, I eat lots of crap. I usually go to Trader Joe's and pick up some Tempura Shrimp and their version of Tater Tots. And of course, chips and dip. Plus a late night snack of cheese and Triscuits melted in the microwave. How about you?

...and I'm already looking forward to a ginormous plate of chicken parm and ziti (she can't eat pasta or cheese now because of a diet) and an entire bottle of wine!

Then I'll probably pass out on the couch and wait for her to come home.

I don't break down cholesterol well at all, and have had serious heart issues for about ten years. I do what I can to be alive when she gets back.

had Ramen noodles with frozen vegies added?

I cook the vegies first in the saucepan for about 2 minutes, then add the noodles and cook another 3 minutes (recommended time).

Stuff I've tried:

chopped spinach
peas
stir fry vegies (different combinations...broccoli, red pepper, green beans, water chestnuts, etc)

frozen shrimp
minced garlic in rice wine and olive oil
sesame oil

mmmmm

so you can look for the healthier versions. If a package make two servings the sodium would be 20.5% of daily value of sodium... men would probably eat the whole package so they'd get 41% of sodium allowance.

Most people have a salt shaker or soy sauce at home- we take a salt shaker when we go camping- I'll never understand why any soup is manufactured with so much salt. The label should just say "contains minimal salt, add your own salt to taste", then people with high blood pressure could use it, too.

I will bake bread, then use the bread to hold massive burger creations (lots of cheese, bacon, sometimes an egg, sausage). I'll also make up a batch of really hot wings if she's gone for more than a couple days.

.

when she goes out of town, she prepares him healthy meals he can heat up.

He's a willing worker-bee - rarely eats properly while she is gone, and has to drag him back to health when she returns.

I've been single most of my life,

and when I find my next SO (and there will be one) - hope she feels no need to go out of town.

When you're on your own. We eat pretty darn healthy--I'm married with two health-concious daughters. So I rarely make anything heart dumb, and we eat almost no beef. But when my wife goes out of town, I load up on the junk.

Like Kali's SO, mine is unlikely to travel and leave me at home. But when there is enough leftover meat for two, I make it into a meal for him and our son... I'd rather eat other things, like a bowl of shredded wheat, granola, fruit, yogurt, milk with dried fruit and nuts. Or snack on vegetables and a peanut butter and apricot jam sandwich.

Love triscuits and cheese in a microwave. I also like drinking lemon juice with greek olives in it. (I love sour things!)
