Except, years ago, when I worked as a florist, we had these really red-neck people in, and while they waited for a custom arrangement to take to the hospital for a daughter whose pregnancy was threatened by some kind of complications, they kept telling me how the baby was on a fecal monitor and not doing well.

They must have called it a fecal monitor 20 times.

I won't ever forget that, or the customer that came in and asked me where she could get some chlamydia -- she meant clematis -- I felt like suggesting that $20, a bottle of cheap tequila, and a trip to Detroit's Cass Corridor neighborhood should do the job. Or, the woman that wanted to know where the Sweet Asylum was - she meant Sweet Alyssum.
