How much more money can George Lucas milk out of the Star Wars series?

(95,337 posts)I love the closing fight with Obi-Wan, Darth Maul and Qoi-gon. It's rates up there as one of the best probably because Darth Maul and his dual light saber.
That's the ONLY reason I could think of watching the movie again in 3D

(95,337 posts)I mean if you look at the episodes 1-3, Jar-Jar's role shrank significantly each movie to the point of being just a short cameo in the 3rd triology.
There are cringeworthy Jar-Jar scenes that could easily be trimmed from the movie without taking away the overall plot. First that comes to mind is when Jar-Jar got his tongue stuck in the pod. I just remembered seeing that and thinking 'Really, did we need this unnecessary scene with this poorly generated character that had an annoying accent?'. You could also eliminate the scene where Jar-Jar touches that robot in the used parts store and it jumped all over the place too.

(13,409 posts)Done originally by fans, but it's since been approved by Lucas. So much of the annoying Jar-Jar crap has vanished, it's a much more watchable film. I wonder what Lucas was smoking to think that Jar-Jar was in any way a good idea.

(13,409 posts)He's said that now that he's finished with "Red Tails" that he'll be sticking to nothing but small, low-budget films. I think Lucas is finished with epics.

(47,675 posts)The ewok special was about as silly as it could possibly be. Spoilers alert here, but hopefully you'll never be subjected to viewing it.
People wanted to know more about ewoks, so Lucas made a special movie and somewhere along the lines it got so royally fucked up in the name of "family viewing" that it would have been comical if it hadn't been so sad.
Plot: A pair of cheesy-ass parents and their cheesy-ass kids (one girl, one boy, but of course) crash land on the ewok moon and amazingly nobody is hurt. They run into a bunch of cute teddy bears and, well, that was about it as far as the plot is concerned.

(22,239 posts)I'm so glad all the Ewoks probably died as result result of the Death Star exploding in low orbit.
I refuse to believe in Lucas-physics that say the Ewoks survived.

(47,675 posts)One thing I never figured out was why Luke could make C3PO fly around in a chair but couldn't manage to untie the ropes he was hanging by. But hey, it's science fiction.

(47,675 posts)For me it is rarely important stuff like bills or work - it's almost always something stupid like old "Gilligan's Island" episodes.

(12,132 posts)I hate 3D.
It gives me a headache and the glasses don't work with my real glasses. My wife can't even see it as she has no depth perception.
George wants my money, he is gonna have to give me new sci-fi.
I am withholding his 3Deification until further notice.

(35,438 posts)I find it funny because they're hyping Darth Maul in the ads for it, but Darth Maul is hardly even in the movie.

(5,351 posts)just wasn't satisfying enough for him when Episode 1 was originally released, so he feels compelled to do it again. "See? See 'Star Wars' fans?!? I've managed to ruin in one fell swoop everything you loved about the movies when you first saw them! And the dialog in these is even worse than it was in the originals! Mu-hah-hah-HAAAAH!!"
Seriously, midi-chlorians? Thanks for nothing, you chinless hack.
