Actually I disagree. A nice vanilla stout would pair very well with an ice cream sandwich.

... loves his beer. He stops at a diner when he goes out for oceanographic "samples"
and the milkshake machine got him obsessed with the idea of a beer milkshake.

He drank it... but IIRC decided that it was for good reason that they weren't more
universally available.
