been living on garbage for the last 10 days, gonna chew on a mesquite grilled ribeye and some fire-roasted green chilis in a few minutes!
maybe open a bottle or Mexican red wine from Baja it rained a little about an hour ago and it is nice and cool, if dang humid right now. good to be home.

also some assorted snacky things from trader joe's, taco bell, and filiberto's (not garbage)
plus some fancy french too-rich for me, filled croissant type pastry dealies that I could barely eat a half of one

(39,961 posts)I grew up on the West Bank of NOLA and there was a Popeye's on every corner. Red beans and rice they do well. Except everybody does them well in New Orleans and you always knew what you would be eating on a Monday - and looked forward to it.
A shade of spice and boudin in that, it's a hearty meal.
