Goodbye, Claudia.

We had to have our sixteen-year-old kitty euthanized today. She had gone blind. She was pooping in corners, bumping into things, and not eating much any more. She was not happy. We will miss her.

See you on the other side, Claudia.

Our elderly neighbors found her in a box by their front door. There was a little jar of cat food, with a note inside that said, "1/4 cup," and a blanket.

They could not keep her. Their old dog hated cats. They had her upstairs until they found a home for her. Bob was quite upset that someone would do that to a cat. He died a couple of years later. His wife is still around, and in her nineties. I will have to call her and tell her how many years we enjoyed their gift to us.

Claudia was clearly someone's pet. She had perfect housecat manners. She was meant to be our cat.
