Uncle in the hospital, slightly unusual mystery...

Just learned that my uncle is in the hospital and no one is 100% sure why. They were planning a Rosh Hashanah dinner party, my aunt is Jewish, and had invited my grandfather over. They started to grow concerned when my uncle was much later than usual from getting home from work. Then they found out he was in the hospital for some reason.

My uncle bicycles home from work and something occurred from the time he left work to the time he showed up in the hospital. The DRs said that he was in a postictal state indicating he had had a seizure but we don't know any more than that. We don't even know how he got to the hospital, was he brought there by ambulance or did someone bringing him there, information seems to be a little hard to come by. My father was saying that he's in an unusual distant, distracted state of mind and doesn't remember what happened to him. We don't know where his bike is, from the sound of it he has injured his hand slightly as well. It's all something of a mystery. I was wondering if it's possible he was struck by a car or something. He has no history of seizures.

The only things that occur to me could be, as you said, he struck his head somehow (either b/c of another car or just wiping out) or maybe a TIA?

Yes a TIA or stroke occurred to us too, or a blood clot or hemorrhage but I think they have probably ruled out the worst of those.

5. Small update: Still don't know what's going on really, ...

The little news I heard today they still don't really know much more. He had a CT scan which came back negative for anything which is good. He's exhausted and still pretty out of it, though not delirious or anything, just not very talkative and not himself. His wife tells us that he had not been sleeping well for a long time before so I'm guessing maybe a seizure sounds right. He is a VERY driven guy who is the CEO of a small web company that he has been trying to build up for some years now. He lives contract to contract and while I think they have been moderately successful I can imagine he lives under constant stress. He's also very much the type of person not to tell ANYONE he would be suffering. He's the strong willed, somewhat quiet, crazily driven type. He can be impossible to deal with at times because of his personality that basically bull dozes everyone else out of the way. I don't doubt that he could have been under crazy stress and no one really knew how bad it was. This is still all speculation though.
