Grey skies all around, a swirling wind, and sporadic raindrops making it past the umbrella on a Florida summer afternoon.
Nice. The radio's in my headphones but each thunder boomer trumps the music.
Anybody got a doobie?

Don't get me wrong - I love to see the power and beauty of momma nature.
But up here in Northern Ontario,
it knocks down our poorly designed power lines that run through the bush and trees take the lines down.
I love thunderstorms - lighting, hammering rain and all - but when the power gets knocked out,
I be thinking FOOD is going to spoil -
I like food.

(3,065 posts)Right now I'm sitting in the lanai, tokin the pipe and listenin' to the storm passing overhead.
After a very humid day working outdoors throwing conduit in a ditch, this is great for my mental hygiene.
I love Florida weather. Compared to living in Las Vegas, where rain is a phenomenon more than weather, I find the rain very cathartic.

Not even on my sunporch, where Mr Pipi and I and our two dogs were sitting during a storm three years ago when a bolt of lightning hit the corner of the house and destroyed about $3000 worth of appliances and electronics.

(22,000 posts)The building I live in is surrounded by three other buildings so it blocks the view for the most part. That's the bad thing about living in a complex where all the buildings are 13-15 story concrete blocks.
