(32,080 posts)We had 80s for the vast majority of the summer. I can count on one hand the number of days we had temps above 90, which is "normal" for summers here. Now, all of a sudden, we've been in the 90s for over a week, now that summer is about over. Weird.

(30,947 posts)It has been in the middle to high 80s. It is only cool at night when it goes down to the middle 60s. I hate summer and wish it would end soon. I hate heat and I hate to sweat.

(13,661 posts)fresh air and it felt wonderful. I'm fine with fall weather - but I was born and raised in SoCal, and winter here (mid Atlantic) just hurts. I hate to be cold. I hate to be too hot, too - I guess that's what happens when you grow up in a temperate climate.
I think if I could just be elsewhere from about Jan 1 - March 1, that'd be all I needed. It's nice to see spring unfolding here.

(54,370 posts)Here in Germany, it's usually fall by now, but we had over 32° C last Friday. Let us enjoy it for just a couple of days longer, please?

(10,893 posts)mostly because I don't like randomly sweating when I'm not working out, and because I can sleep easier when it is cool. When it is cold, all a person needs to do to get comfortable is to put on extra clothes and throw on a few more blankets. From personal experience at least, it is easier to warm up in the fall and winter than to beat the heat in the summer.

(28,394 posts)We just had a nice cool week in the lower 70s but it is going back to the upper 80s next week. Gawd how I hate to sweat.

(63,912 posts)I am welcoming this brief interlude of cool nights and mild sunny days. I'm not running up the electric bill or the oil heat bill. That's a relief in and of itself...Ivy football season coming, go Bulldogs!

(9,077 posts)We had a couple of coolish, less humid weeks, but now the heat & humidity have come back with a vengeance. I'm looking forward to fall weather.

I sorta like the challenge, as well as enjoy the beauty that momma nature gives me when she covers everything in pure white snow.
Have wood heat, propane, as well as electric -
I can toasty up quite nicely and quickly after doing outside chores like shoveling snow, gathering firewood and so on.
It's mostly early spring I do not like when the thaw floods roads, washes out the driveway, and so on.
I do not even mind a severe storm (as long as it don't blow my house down).
Have a generator backup - wired to the main circuit panel - power goes out - turn a key - flip some switches,
everything is normal!
- well, except I have to put up with noise from the generator, and think about the $$ gas it is using.
But every time I go into town from my spot in the bush
this is what I will see when momma nature drops the snow

(14,881 posts)It seems to rain every day that I'm not working, which makes it hard to keep up. I need to keep the filly training and it's getting time for harvest. I can't or don't want to do those things in rain. Hopefully it will swing back to warmer weather just for a couple weeks longer. Not hot, but 70s and *sunny* would be nice for a couple weeks!
