I will be, because my fave college football coach, Chip Kelly, is now the Eagles coach. It will be very interesting to see if his innovative football style will translate to NFL.

(19,372 posts)and be mostly gone next year. It worked extremely well at the slower paced college level, but the NFL is a whole different thing. Too much speed and talent working against it.
I wish him well though, like his style.

(1,569 posts)However, I really think the NFL (no fun league) is determined not to allow Chip to use his biggest weapon, tempo. I heard that the refs have already agreed to allow D subs liberally, they also said they will leisurely continue to change balls after every play and will NOT hurry play in any way.
As for the read-option or variations, I think it can be effective, but probably not as much with Vick. Kelly needs a breakaway type RB, a mobile QB, and total buyin for this to work in the NFL. The funny thing is, Kelly's "innovations" have already proven quite workable in the NFL. RGIII had a great season, the 49ers, Seahawks also rode on the backs of highly mobile QBs. Heck, even Andrew Luck the prototype pocket passer had a huge running play this week.
Old school guys love to say that QBs are too valuable to use as runners in the NFL, but the stats don't back them up. Getting sacked in the pocket is way more likely to end with a QB injury than the tackle at the end of a planned run. No one, not even most college teams with running QBs intends for the QB to be the primary runner, but if a typical 200 lb NFL running back can carry 20-30 times a game, there is no reason the average 220 lb QB can't carry the ball 10 times, especially since they slide, get out of bounds, or score on most of those plays.

(78,249 posts)Can't have that. Then people might actually change the channel rather than listen to the likes of Terry Bradshaw bloviate for fifteen minutes before the next game.

(12,296 posts)... because we can't take sites down during business hours or God Forbid people might not be able to log on and give us money!!
So we're wasting about $5k/mo to have the entire team online after hours 4x mo @ 4 hours each to do this stupid shit.
I fucking hate this place.
But thanks for letting me rant!!

I've already won in my money league (neither of us has any players going tonight and I'm up by a hundred points - not too concerned with stat corrections for that much) but I am behind quite a bit in my just-for-fun free league. I have LeSean McCoy going tonight though so hopefully he will beast it.
