It makes me spend more time in the smaller groups.

Weird news. Seekers on unique paths. Automobile enthusiasts.

And, DU Birders.

Birders are among to most calming people you will find.

New Age types get on my nerves.

They take principles of subatomic physics (everything is connected; observation changes the outcome of what you're looking at as in the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle)and generalize them until they are ridiculous.

I live with a physicist so this to me is really misusing these concepts.

Here at DU it's "HOW DARE YOU SHOP AT THE EVIL EMPIRE WALLYWORLD"
"HOW DARE YOU DRIVE A POLLUTING CAR"
"HOW DARE YOU NOT SHOP AT LOCAL FARMER'S MARKETS"
"HOW DARE YOU NOT TAKE THE BUS".

Guess what, I DO NOT HAVE any of those choices available to me. Wallyworld and the fact that I live in the country because I inherited a house (free houses are not easy to turn down) have taken those choices away from me.

(Don't ask. There have been times in my life when I've been very easily manipulated... this was not the worst.)

One of the artists was very good and the school posted her work in the Admin building for an open house.

I went to go see it. I was standing there. A middle age women walks up. She's standing there.

She glances at me, looks at the drawing, then she looks me up and down... and says, "Oh! That's you!"

I'm a white guy who blushes very well.

I've never been more naked in my entire life, even when I've been naked.

Second, no matter what you post, somebody will disagree. In fact, everyone will disagree, if not with your basic idea than with your mode of expression. Even your allies could have written it better, more powerfully, more clearly, more persuasively, and did I mention just plain better?

Furthermore, the more reasonable you are, the more disagreeable the people are who disagree. So the more reasonable, sensible and thought out your post, the more likely it is to draw snorts of derision, snark, and general psychosis.

And THAT is how I reassure myself that I AM the sane one here.

If you attract the psychos, it's just flies to honey, baby. Just flies to honey.
