Moved into my new home, feels great, can you relate ?

I have lived all my life in apartments (except for when I was married and had another income to pay the mortgage). Finally....I have my very own humble home.

It feels really great that this is my home, that I own, finally, after 37 years of being an adult.

Best wishes to all other homeowners, potential homeowners and renters !

make sure you have the HOA documents. You should have gotten them at close. Read them carefully, so you know what your responsibility is and what the HOA's is.

I'm on the Board of Directors for my condominium association. I know the rules and regs, upside down and sideways. My knowing the rules has saved me probably $1000 over the years, with the association wanting to charge me for what it was responsible for. I've also saved money for other residents as well.

However, the one thing I miss is being able to call maintenance whenever there is a problem and having them fix it right away at no cost.

It will be nice that my mortgage will never go up like my rent did, and eventually there will be no payments.

I am still patting the walls and marveling over this house 8 years after we bought it!
