We have become impatient with everything it seems.

Over the decades as a traveler with my vehicles I've noticed all too often that people will literally try to push you off the road just to get one car length ahead of you.

Older cars combined with our newer technology could certainly do the distance, and further - especially on non-paved or non-maintained roads - they had much higher clearance, were lighter, and comparatively easy to get unstuck.

Our NEW cars as a whole could not have traversed the roads of the 20's.

We've "progressed" so far that we have over a billion dollar industry just towing around our broken down cars.

Heck - many of them cannot be towed, they have to be moved with a flatbed.

Progress indeed.
