Women with narrow feet

Where do you shop for shoes? I'm an 8A due to long toes, and it is a bear to go shoe shopping.

Anyone know of a good outlet where they actually have shoes for narrow feet? I have to special order running shoes, for heavens sake.

I found this blog
http://www.barkingdogshoes.com/newshoe/multiple-width-shoes/

and followed the link to a site called http://www.footsmart.com/ , they have like 383 shoes with 8 narrow.

Is there a difference between 2A and A ?

Actually that was the title of a UK sitcom about a Jewish and Irish tailor working together : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Never_Mind_the_Quality,_Feel_the_Width

Actually I quite like my lovely narrow feet! Anyway when I was young my mother let me buy Capezios because they came in narrow. These days I go to Zappos on line and search out N widths. Naturalizer is often good. Clark's too. But I wear Birkenstocks mostly, because of comfort. One thing about narrow feet. They don't appreciate when their owner lets her weight creep up!

They have decent styles in A, AA, and AAA. I even saw AAAA once. Dress and casual. They're good about returns, too.

very wide feet (with very high arch)... as an official tester for New Balance, I know they carry a wide range of sizes and I love the shoes... the joy of a good fitting pair of shoes is immeasurable

Other than athletic shoes, it seems that the shoe designers think that people with wide feet live in retirement homes. I'm 33 and do not want to wear the same shoes as my grandmother.

I live in flip flops when possible (and yay for having a job that lets me wear them to work) as they're the only sandals that fit my feet.

10. What kind of shoes?

One of my brothers has feet that are basically kid-width with finger-length toes. I don't know the size but I do know he can write with his feet as a parlor trick. Tired of having to special order shoes, he basically wears nothing but Converse All-Stars (and now One-Stars) or indoor soccer shoes as soccer shoes are designed to be as narrow as possible. (Apparently it makes for harder, more-accurate kicking. I know that football kickers typically wear cleats 1.5 sizes smaller than their regular shoe size for the same reason.)

That might be helpful for running on non-asphalt surfaces and for general daily-wear kicks...but I wouldn't go road-racing in them (they have paper-thin soles with little cushion) and they're not dress-sexy or business-suitable.

For your lifestyle, you might want to take a look at what they have.

The shoes they carry tend to be pricey, but very well made, are generally waterproof, last a long time and they have great sales from time to time.

And many of their styles come in narrow.

You might want to also look at Birkenstocks. I resisted them for a long time, but have developed plantar fasciitis and they are really helpful with that. They also come in narrow with the additional plus of being able to adjust the width at several points.
