I'm confused -- DU2 still functional and people post there! ???

I thought when we were "moved over" to DU3 by the administration, that DU2 was basically locked -- left open for a while for people to look up old threads, but closed to new posts.

So, imagine my surprise to click over there via a link, and find that people are still posting on some of the forums, such as GD, LBN, and even the lonesome DU2 Lounge.

Huh?????

1. yes, the light is still on...well, it's one of those faint night lights!

Still has mods on the job, too.

Yet, I'd have to guess that they have a lot less to do. The atmospher seems almost serene over there. I check in now and then, because frankly, I still miss the old format and there are some good folks self-exiled over there.

15. There've been quite a few periods of "shit storm" here when serene sounded really good...

Especially before Politics 2012 took some of the pressure off GD (and that period of near continuous "McCarthy-like hearings" pitting Pro verus (slightly Less Pro, somewhat critical) Obama posters.

I suspect most will find their way here eventually.

It's like a ghost town. The last time I peeked in, the latest discussion page had most of the posts by the same author!

They like it there, and they won't move out till the landlord locks the doors.

And they don't like DU3!
