Even some neighbors came by last night and Abigail stories were shared along with toasts of wine, probably because she was uncommonly smart (as compared to other family members, lol). My favorite Abbie story occurred when grandson, now 12, had just turned one. Abbie brought her toy mouse over to him and threw it up in the air, pouncing on it. She did this three times, always looking at him intently. Finally she dropped it next to his chubby little legs where he just remained standing, wobbling unsteadily, grinning and drooling. She then gave him the most disgusted look I've ever seen, even from a cat, and turned her back on him for the remainder of her life.

As it turns out, she was right. He's never been a good mouser, and she never could figure out why the parents kept him. 😊
