(24,146 posts)a recipe that calls for two cloves usually gets at least six or eight.
Though I've found a local natural food store that has a better quality of garlic. Much healthier looking and larger cloves. They're a bit stronger than the crap I've been buying at our grocery store.

(115,924 posts)I think it's genetic - my brother totally hates them, too. To me they taste extremely bitter, with an overtone of rotting garbage.

(23,340 posts)It is a bit unusual; there are other foods that many people have difficulty with, such as cilantro, but onions are pretty unusual.
Many people have foods that they don't like, though. I don't do well with many forms of corn, or coconut.

(28,762 posts)is a great tasting large sweet onion, but they don't keep as well over winter. I still grow them because I like eating them during the summer. I think my all round favorite would be Candy, they grow very large, sweet onion and keep over winter!
