or are you like many of us who have given up on the rest of life?

BTW - does this include your little "vacation"?

I'm hanging around the house ... maybe for the rest of the winter.

It includes my vacation (hate it when I can't get back home in a timely fashion) and when I moved to Texas (Oct 2009) for a job, then Alabama (Spring 2010)(stuck there waiting for work), including getting stuck in Miami (when the owner of the truck pulled it out from under a load on Christmas Eve in Sweetwater Tenn) for a month in February.

Sigh. I need a job but my body is fighting it. My hearing is very bad even with hearing aids. There are some days that I can't walk very far. Standing still is out of the question. I've become one of those women who does her grocery shopping in a carriage/buggy. I guess I've given up on many things including what used to be an active normal life.

getting old is harder than folks think - the standing walking thing is really hard to get used to.

Last year we lost our house, a rambling brick ranch. I walked a lot inside. We had a large Jacuzzi inside that was wonderful for hydro therapy. Now I'm happy to own the roof over my head but ... it's very small, there are steps going into the house. After we moved last Fall I noticed more pain in my hips every time I went anywhere.
Since I returned from my last job I've left the house 3 times. I went out for milk on Saturday. The last time I was out before that was to vote. On the plus side I'm not spending any money if I don't go anywhere. On the negative side ... I won't get to see Mr. ITW's granddaughters in the Nutcracker this year.

Seems almost everyone I know has had a horrid five years.
We kept our house by giving it to my son who now makes two house payments.

P.S. Check Good News 'cause MFM is missing...

I need to repair a few things after I get paid for the work I completed this year ... if/when the checks roll in.

Thank heavens for your son.

Mr. ITW"s whole family got wiped out by the ponzie so we are all struggling to keep it together. It's sink or swim without assistance.

And physically things are definitely headed just one direction, but we still get around well enough.

Hang in there we sure enjoy your posts.

Mr. ITW has a small part time job that he enjoys but his memory is not what it once was. This past spring I was really worried about him. So I encouraged him to audit a few college classes. The added stimulation of studying seems to have slowed or reversed his problem. I don't want to install a lojak so I know where he is if he forgets his way back home. And more importantly I missed the man he used to be. He almost stopped laughing for a while.

I'll be here for a long time to come. I think I'd go nuts without DU for company.

As you mentioned earlier ... getting older has some unpleasant surprises.

I always look forward to seeing you here.

The problem with most inventions is creating a working prototype.

Although ... It is a great idea.

Have you tied that marker flag to your tush on grocery shopping trips yet?
I'm sorry that you are still walking instead of driving.
