We are expecting possible record breaking heat today. I'm glad I went grocery shopping and took a walk yesterday. Today I will be hunkered down with the air conditioner blasting! Where oh where is Fall? I know, Vermont

RebelOne
(30,947 posts)but our temps have been ranging from the middle 20s in the morning and the middle 30s and 40s in the afternoon for the past few days. I am not complaining because I love the cold. I would rather freeze in the winter than sweat in the summer.

(22,000 posts)envy the hell out of you. Actually 90 is a bit too much, mid-80's would be nicer. I have to deal with humidity when it is hot and I just hate that.
PasadenaTrudy
(3,998 posts)envy people in colder parts of the world, so it evens out I guess I suffer from CFS and have a heat sensitivity. I feel healthier and have more energy in the cold. My dream is to someday move outta L.A., but not possible at this point in my life.

(22,000 posts)Nov through March is really cold. We have weeks where we don't get above 32 F. Sorry to hear about your health condition. That really sucks.

(22,000 posts)A very nice city. It does get hot there during the summer though. Probably not near as hot as Pasadena.
PasadenaTrudy
(3,998 posts)two years ago in August. It got up to 100 degrees while I was there. It was cooler in Pasadena! Bad timing, I didn't get to do as much as I wanted. Stayed in hotel blasting the a/c. I like Eugene, too, but I need to spend more time in both cities to see which one would suit me better. Eugene is more low-key, but I may get bored...I checked out Corvalis, too, but too small I think.

(22,000 posts)Portland can get hot. I was in Oregon for 4 months in 2007 and there was quite a heatwave in July and August. Corvalis and Eugene are growing. You also might check out Hood River out in the Columbia Gorge. Beautiful place.

(4,465 posts)instead I am "hunkered down" with the heat on on this dark gloomy NOT warm day. I am trying to get it together to go over to the park but all I wanna do is sit here and read DU, well that or just go back to bed.
