We do have a lot of them here in Maryland. Down by the bay?

near Solomons.

3. beautiful area.

there are allegedly some great crab restaurants in that locale, too.

I like that whole Southern Maryland region, nice, and out of the way. St. Marys, Solomons, etc.

4. I like it too, and hadn't really been familiar with it until I found this spot.

Daughter lives in Aquasco so wanted to be closer to her than I am in Silver Spring and Hagerstown.

Good restaurants in Solomons, but haven't explored much more yet. May get to do so next Spring/Summer. As older daughter, in NJ, has new house, and having a baby in December, I probably won't be around here as often this winter as I will be later.

5. Solomons doesn't seem that close to Aquasco

Looking at the map shows me that both Hollywood, and California, MD, are closer to Solomons!

Aquasco does have a Speedway, however.

6. Cottage is about 30 miles from daughter in Aquasco,

Solomons on other side of the river from me. Haven't been to speedway, but they often see planes to/from Andrews!
