I found evidence of Egyptian toothbrushes going back to several thousand BC, but little evidence that they were used that much in Rome or medieval Europe. And there seems to be quite a bit of mention of tooth decay in those times.

My mouth may never be able to close again....at least for hours. I am totally disgusted. Especially by St. Friedrich of Benedictine. Too creepy! And what a waste of nice jewelry. Well, jewels anyways.
