Question about "The Walking Dead" (SPOILERS)

When the Walkers amass outside the fence of the prison, why not douse them with gasoline/lighter fluid/some type of flammable liquid and set them on fire with a blow torch? Stabbing them individually at close range seems to be a futile effort.

Similar to using guns, the light would attract every walker in the area JVS Nov 2013 #12

There are lots of things I think I'd do differently there.

1) Some kind of chain link fence privacy cloth.

2) Noisemakers left in woods to attract walkers away from fence.

3) Loot a backhoe at some point and use the darned thing to create another barrier
inside the fence. The Governor routinely dug huge collection pits, why not the good guys?

4) Exactly what you said.

Lots more when you think about it. But the first and most important is noisemakers to draw them away!

that it would draw a massive crowd and they may overwhelm the prison.

the characters are constantly traipsing around out there without much problem.

Plus, the terrain out the back of the prison is quite different than out the ruined front, which as we saw with Tyreeses group ended
up being a set of suburban houses. That can be used to get an advantage.

In my prison, the noisemakers would be placed along some prescouted route along those paved suburban streets. A sturdy vehicle could
be used to a couple of people to drive to a spot, set off a noisemaker then head for another more distant spot.
Use the noisemakers in sets to guide the zombies AWAY, not just off the fence. Try to get them to head for that river, where the ambient
river noise should disrupt the order of the herd.

At least they are doing a LITTLE better this season with that late model Hyundai (nudge nudge)... but they drove me insane the first season running around in a beat up Winnebago and a beat up Suzuki Samurai looking junker.

Doesn't Georgia have any Tahoe dealers? Maybe a Hummer with big wheels for driving over herds and small windows for when the biters get all grabby.

Breaking Bad was exclusively Chrysler products as well. Not only that, but they changed model depending on year. Last fall Hank went to a family BBQ in a black Jeep and when he finished going to the bathroom and left Walt's house he and Marie climbed into a black Dodge SUV.

that before this season started, the set designers planned to dig a moat around the prison set, but started digging and hit quicksand, so the elaborate gates and barricades were actually plan B.

You don't flame them because they become human torches. They don't die until the brain shuts off, so everything they touch until the brain flames up will also go up in flames.

We use noisemakers and bait them into a pit then burn them in the pit where they cannot get out.

As put so well in Adriansundeaddiary.com, the only thing worse than a zombie
is a zombie on fire.

a REALLY good read and it is coming to print soon!
