well, this is a lovely little cold snap

17 degrees out right now here in northern colorado and single digits tonight. there's a little bit of snow on the ground but the roads have been cleared since this morning.

we've been spoiled by 50s and 60s for a bit now and this is a bit of a rude awakening. it should be too cold for me to be sitting out on my patio, but i won't let a bit of a chill keep me from my patio time. but i'll survive, it'll be back up to the 50s by sunday.

1. This morning, I switched from my light Fall windbreaker

to my blanket-lined heavy leather jacket and gloves. It's starting to get cold in the mornings here in the PNW.

2. i'm trying to decide if i need to bust out the parka

or just keep rolling with the hoodie and leather jacket. i do know that patio time is unlikely to happen when i get home from work.

the most awesome part of this is that the heater fan in the car went out. i'm just happy that i have a heated seat.

3. We have gone, in one day, a 30 degree drop in temps.

From 72 to 40.

It is not uncommon to change clothes 2-3 times a day, adding or subtracting layers as needed.

it's probably a 30-35 degree difference between now and this time yesterday

4. Comparatively balmy here in east-central Wisconsin. About 40, low winds.

I really need to get to Colorado.

6. i'm really glad the wind isn't up

it gets brutal when it comes whipping down from wyoming or off the mountains.
