Ever had your wife get mad at you for having a drink?

Mine's a little mad that I had a strong cup of coffee a couple hours ago and am still buzzed. It was a very potent cup because I had been dragging ass for a bit. My daughter (2&1/2 yo) tired me out today and I need a pick me up so at 6:30 I had a strong cup of Bustelo. She's now upset that she cant have a cup or else she'll be up all night.

I've been reprimanded for beer before but today was a first for coffee.

1. Perhaps she's upset because she's thinking about your health?

I'm guessing, of course; there could be many reasons.

I suspect it's a symptom of something that is really bothering her...

She was on the computer working all day and would prob be able to crash right now, but that would mean that she'd have to get right back to work in the morning. After we put our daughter to bed, we get 2-3 hours to unwind, watch tv, or eat before we turn in.

I've come to the conclusion that I never was the marrying kind.
Three times and you're out is what I've heard.

I'll share with you.
Just sayin'

and before any subsequent ill-fated marriages.

I'm not only not the marrying kind--I'm not the commitment kind, the would make a responsible parent kind, the kind you bring home to meet the parents, the kind you introduce to your friends or the more-than-casually-and-serially-monogamous-at-best kind. I am the fun kind however.

Nonetheless, my female friends keep trying to set me up with their friends that want to domesticate me...and won't introduce me to the fun ones that also are mad for living, not capable of settling-down and are 24-hour party people. I figure I have to layoff before I turn 40 so at the end of this week, I'm t-minus 6 years.

It was 17 years before I tried it again with the guy who didn't think I should be drinking Tequila on a hot summer's night sitting around a bonfire.

If I were only 20 years younger. [img][/img]

She's fine to drink beer, but give her a rum and coke and the child can't keep quiet. She was talking non-stop for over four hours and the next morning she was the first to admit she was obnoxious.

It pays to know your limits. Caffeine is a drug.

First of all, I don't do alcohol. Zip, nada. So no problems on that front.

Also--caffeine doesn't keep me awake. I can drink five cups of double espresso and then nod off like a narcoleptic if I'm tired.

On the other hand, if she catches anyone offering me a big portion of Brie or a veal scallopini, they had better have their last will and testament in order (serious cholesterol problems, but I still long for both).

I work 2nd shift and he works nights. The delectable aroma of his emergency dept. coffee drives me freakin' insane from 6pm until 10. It really is unfair. It's not worth working night shift for, of course, but it's about as close as it gets to suckering me in...
