The DU Lounge

I know I suggest y'all listen to this wonderful station often, but I really can't emphasize it enough: SomaFM is the best thing on the airwaves, even if it's online only. Commercial radio doesn't compare, public radio can compare for some of it. These guys blow them all out of the water! I should know, I've had both public and commercial radio shows. And though I had the most fun of my life with my radio show on KPFT, it still wasn't as high in music quality as these guys.
Yes, I know, some of y'all won't find a single channel that fits your tastes. That's fine. I may be getting older and haven't listened to commercial radio on purpose since 1977, yet I do like some modern music. If it wasn't for online stations, especially SomaFM, I wouldn't listen to radio at all, not even public radio.
C'mon! Give 'em a listen. You may just find them your go-to radio station from now on

(29,414 posts)probably because I'm not in San Francisco. Mission Control is fun for that kind thing, though. And I like your other choices. Normally I don't listen to Lush, but found it quite good lately. Groovesalad I do like most other times
I still have a difficult time getting people I know to try SomaFM. Even at restaurants where I know the owners, they stick with what they've got (such as Sirius' The Spectrum, which is mostly top-100 crap from the 60s to the present.) Even when I've let them listen on a wifi player I use, none are willing to change. Oh well, I'll keep cranking up Groovesalad or Lush to drown out the Spectrum
