Can staring at breasts really help the heart?

According to a German study that is being much discussed by the science-minded folks over at MyFoxBoston.com, and which was mentioned earlier in themedguru.com, staring at a woman's breast for just ten minutes a day improves men's heart health.

Supposedly, the study recruited 500 men; 250 men were told to refrain from looking at breasts, while another 250 men were told to look at breasts every day for the five-year duration of the project. The results allegedly showed that the men who stared at breasts had overall lower rates of heart problems, a lower resting heart rate and lower blood pressure.

Another finding: the men who weren't allowed to look at boobies lost the will to live.

14. I've seen studies (and personally observed) indicating American men in general

never grow up. As the great blues song went, "I don't need no little boys..." Thank God for the rare exceptions. And don't go accusing me of male bashing either... I like men because I had good brothers and a great father. Operative word, 'men'. Overgrown little boys are not amusing. We have too many of those in Congress.

The problem is that the "news" of this study is about as old as the internet intself. In fact, a site called Snopes.com did a good job of debunking the myth in 1999. However, the folks over at MyFoxBoston.com were apparently so busy with fact-checking their business news that they forgot to fact-check this little piece of cheesecake before they grabbed all their file footage of breasts and crammed it into this juvenile report. Apprently,they were so eager to believe this piece of fluff, that they didn't bother to use The Google.

So, not only is there no truth to the idea that looking at breasts will improve anything about a man, but the whole story of the study itself is entirely made up."
