more shoes!
An aggravated man leapt from an upper-level mall balcony to his death because his girlfriend refused to stop shopping, witnesses said.
Tao Hsiao, 38, was at the Golden Eagle International Shopping Center in Xuzhou, China, for five hours on Dec. 7 when his lady insisted that they check out another shoe store, reported Chinese news site Hexun.com.
"He told her she already had enough shoes, more shoes than she could wear in a lifetime and it was pointless buying any more," an eyewitness said, according to Gawker. "She started shouting at him accusing him of being a skinflint and of spoiling Christmas, it was a really heated argument."
Tao apparently could not handle any more name-calling or shopping for that matter.

(6,154 posts)He was suicidal already, sounds like relationship troubles were a core issue. He may have done it in this fashion (no pun intended), in his mind anyway, to punish his GF.
Sad.
But yes hard to deny the darkly comedic side of the story.

(20,564 posts)somewhere if not on gawker itself maybe on cracked they explain why if it's a totally ridiculous story that is completely invented it's OK for it to be set in china, the media source won't be sued for making up the crap story
have we forgotten so soon the completely invented story about the chinese dude who sued his wife for having ugly babies?
apparently it's legal to lie about china and say it's news
and some stories on gawker are aggregated from sources that haven't been personally checked out by the "reporter"
so i'mma just sayin
a story from the new york daily news via gawker is pretty much guaranteed to be pure dee bullshit
