It was her "popularity" that started the record lablels on this torturous cycle of auto-tuned half-naked video-and-papparazzi-dependent pop pap. Pointing Perry directly toward the culturally underripe pre-teenybopper demographic didn't hurt, either. Be patient: the problem with being a musicial "sensation" is that sensations tend to wear off. Indeed, Perry is already being pushed toward the exits by the likes of Niki Minaj and Myley Cyrus.
