Pit Bulls and Parolees

Marathon on Animal Planet! LOVE LOVE LOVE this show! THEY JUST RESCUED STRAY BULL PUPPIES FROM THE MOJAVE DESERT and are looking for the Mommy! This woman is just incredible, she. Is a human incarnation of the bulls gameness and refusal to give up in the face of adversity.

Tia does an amazing job with both the rescues and the parolees!

Have you heard her mention anything about her husband this season?

...of her husband yet. I cracked up when young hispanic kid cussed her... "listen, kid, I spent 6 years in the Army".... LMAO. I had the ancestor of the pit bull, the english (not american) staffordshire terrier when I was in my early 20s. An English American family who had bred these dogs for generations all the way back to england gave him to me as a pup. (It is now illegal in england to breed these dogs - these were the REAL English bulldogs, not the modern version that lay around all day- this was the true Victorian era scrapping dog... though in my case he was a beloved and loyal family member, not a fighter) To this day, sometimes I remember him and can literally feel him laying at my side in my bed.

Of how much heart these dogs have... I got the bright idea of making a dog run behind the Victorian house I was living in (circa 1845) so Sammi could get some sunshine and fresh air. I dug a 6 ft. Hole and put a 12 foot pole into it, anchored with concrete and rocks. Let it cure for 2 days. Put Sam on the run off the pole, secure in the indestructibility of my hard work. Came out to check on him 40 minutes or so later. He was dragging the 12 foot pole with concrete ball attached around the yard by his chain. I laughed so hard I cried, and never put him outside again.
