(38,000 posts)I really missed out on a lot of pop culture references because I could never get into Seinfeld. I thought: "These people are horrible!", not realizing that was the whole point.
And here I am, years later, an "It's Always Sunny" fan. Go figure.

(6,154 posts)You kept thinking, these guys can't get more selfish than this. Then nope the next episode proved they could Fantastic writing throughout, Seinfeld himself though was ironically the weak link in the cast.

He was well known for having a smerk on his face during many scenes which called for something slightly more deadpan.

(38,000 posts)It's practically an onomatopoeia. It almost sounds like its definition.

(53,339 posts)And tintinnabulation.
Silver bells!
What a world of merriment their melody foretells!
How they tinkle, tinkle, tinkle,
In the icy air of night!
While the stars that oversprinkle
All the heavens, seem to twinkle
With a crystalline delight;
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the tintinnabulation that so musically wells
From the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells -
From the jingling and the tinkling of the bells.

As for onomatopoeia, there used to be this very cool kid's show:

(38,000 posts)The superior lyrics, the increasing intensity of a swing tune, the twang, all tied up with a great lead singer.
Thanks for that.

(24,146 posts)but i thing exsanguination is an amazing word.
It is a rather beautiful word, isn't it?
EDIT ADD: It reminds me of the how elegant the word "abattoir" is except, "exsanguination" is much prettier.

Still have no idea what it means but I use it frequently and when I explain that a gruntled employee is the opposite of a disgruntled employee I can see them appear to understand it and then wonder what it actually means.
