Xmas is all but cancelled this year as my plans will most likely involve a funeral.

The only gifts I have are baby clothes.

and be patient. Flying is crowded, often delayed, and not much fun today. Take your meds and an extra outfit in your carry on because they may lose your suitcase.

Will the airport have outlets so I can charge my Kindle during my layover?

(I have a 3 hour train ride after a day of flying)

I travel by train for work often. The seats have power outlets.

Some airports have outlets, some don't. If you can't find them around the seats, some of the restaurants/bars might.

and bring a 3 in 1 outlet converter to allow more travelers to use the plug with you!
