Some Christmas Cuteness - our house guests for the last several days . . .

We (my gf and I) do transports for animal rescues, typically coming from high kill shelters down south and going to no kill shelters in Maine.

This time, due to weather, etc., we hosted these little puppies for a few days, they're noisy and smelly, but they're also adorable as all hell

Merry Christmas!

And curses to you for posting those adorable puppies that are coming to a shelter near me!

(I cannot adopt right now. I cannot adopt right now. I cannot adopt right now. I cannot adopt right now. I cannot adopt right now. I cannot adopt right now...)

My Jakey was a Christmas puppy pulled from death row in Arkansas 9 years ago today.

And my Luna came off death row in Georgia 3 years ago.

She had no name when we got her, so we named her Ruby:

She's an amazingly sweet, well-mannered dog. She needs a lot of fattening up though, she's extremely thin. She's got great door manners, best I've seen in a rescue. She won't come in the door until we're already inside and ask her to. She refuses to barge in ahead of us or go ahead of us even when we ask her to. She's VERY calm and just loves having company.

I'm really partial to this one:

He's just a really cool little pup.

The other black one (the larger one) is probably the most social of the bunch. He just wants to climb all over you and give puppy kisses the second you pick him up.

My current labs are one pure-bred (sort of like a rescue though - I got him at 11 mos when the first family gave him up) and one chocolate lab/hound mix from rescue. In the past I had a couple of black labs from rescue also. My favorite was a big blocky English Lab. He was very regal looking!

Picture #1 looks a Lot like the pup we rescued from a "facility"--some jerk Dumped a Whole litter in the woods--the High Desert---and a utility worker found them in time....

We drove 10 hours to get her and couldn't be happier..

Your "motely crew" is adorable..you are very kind folks for doing this!
Bless you <3
