I stopped watching TV except for the news some time ago, quite a few years ago actually. Since then I've developed a YouTube watching habit. I've got about 70 channels I'm subscribed to and I watch an hour or two of content a day, sometimes more. I personally enjoy video game related channels and food shows, eating challenge shows, food review shows. But there's tons of content out there for just about anyone, travel and cultural shows, entertainment, humour, movies, personalities, blogs the list goes on. The really nice thing about YouTube I find at least is that you are watching small independent content producers who usually are really passionate about what they do. And you get little bite sized content, often devoted to some small niche. Each channel has its own flavour and often it's the personality of the guy/girl producing the content that you get hooked on as much as the content itself. There are some really really talented people out there, as well as some amazingly compassionate and interesting, goofy, off the wall personalities. It's so much more personal and interesting than TV, and you often even get to communicate directly with the creator through the comments. You really feel like you get to know some of these people. Many of the more popular guys are even able to do make a living off their channels and produce content full time.

A youtube let's player who specializes almost entirely on indie games. He made his fame with his Binding of Isaac series, he's on episode 667 now. The guy has a great smooth FM voice. He come across as very intelligent, quick as a whip, and very funny. Also comes accross as a genuinely kind person.

I don't know what I like about these guys. Their acting in front of the camera could not be more more wooden and awkward. Well I guess that's what endures you to them, they really come across as 2 genuine average dudes who love their games. They have a friendly love hate rivalry on camera, one is a Sega Fanboy the other is a Nintendo one. I like the fact that they always cover more obscure titles you may not have heard of before. Some good editing in their shows too.

An american living in Japan. This guys puts up near daily vlogs covering stuff from his insanely tightly packed game room in Japan. He likes to cover video game arcade board repairs, the guy is a wizard at fixing dead boards. But he will also put up gaming footage, vlogs and other miscellaneous stuff. Of particular interest are his cultural vlogs where he will go to some part of japan, or usually and electronics store, and just talk steam of conciousness stuff. Gives you a little window into Japan

Gerard puts up some very funny video game reviews. He obviously puts a lot of effort into these reviews. He specializes in finishing a game 100%, getting every extra bonus, seeing everything there is to see. He's got quite an eccentric personality and a goofy side kick.

2 life long friends go to flea markets and swap meets looking for vintage video game stuff while you tag along. Doesn't sound interesting but these guys have great personalities and their fun is infectious.

Another food review and eating challenge show. These guys really come across as two guys I'd just love to have a beer and hang out with, and not in a right wing nut job sense. The skinny guy is always drunk or smashed on something, the fat guy is pretty knowledgeable and can eat anything

8. I really don't care much for 2013 so I watch YouTube videos from way back in the day

all the time. I like jazz from the 1920s and all the roots, r & b, jump blues, hillbilly, country, western swing, rock-n-roll, doo-wop and rockabilly from the 1930s to the 1960s.

I also like to watch old western tv shows like Rawhide and Wagon Train. I like animal rescues too but I wish there were more cat ones. You would think there would be more vids of cats being rescued and finding a loving home but there just aren't for some reason.

I like to watch sports on tv and the retro channel METV, otherwise it's off to the shelter of yesteryear on Youtube. I refuse to let 2013 get me down so I just shut it out altogether.

12. I don't quite get the attraction of Piewdiepi...

I guess it's his goofiness and happy personality, I tend to like that in youtubers but something just didn't click for me with him. I should give him another try. Unbelievable that he has 16 million subs!!

14. Yeah, on Saturday nights I'll stay up until 2am watching (or listening) to my favorite 60's music

or old TV shows. Once in awhile I'll check out 9/11 Truther vids and boy does the comments section get heated on those. But YouTube is like all of internet-20% awesome and 80% dreck.

I go there to watch a linked video and end up exploring the videos on the right side.

As for favorites, I like mugumogu(home of Maru), The Uptake(citizen's journalism), RC model reviews and Simon's cat(funny cat 'toons).
