That's a tough goal to reach, and over the holidays even!

Keep doing what you're doing, and you will get there.

Hopefully you're following a plan that you can continue doing forever...

The most important one is the sugar. Cut that out and you will lose weight. Hard to do at first, but after you get through the withdrawals, then you will be okay.

I'm impressed at the anti-inflammatory effect too. I'm skeptical by nature and it's helped tremendously.

But I'm convinced they have to be a small part of the diet. I make very forkful of pasta count!

everything in moderation, lots of exercise and I've never been overweight.......demonizing food groups is NOT necessary

Ironically, despite putting on ~35 lbs. in the last year-plus-a-few-months, my overall health seems better due to cutting out a lot of the junk and only eating red meat about once a week, fast food maybe a couple times a month. Mainly I just eat too much overall, especially late-night snacking.

Not easy, but I think I'm in danger of actually coming to Jesus and changing some habits for good. Congrats on reaching that goal!!

Hope you can continue this year. I lost a bit of weight myself, using a similar plan-no extra excercise for me, though-and don't regret a pound of it. Mostly, I just tried to eat more sensibly, emphasizing fresh veggies and stuff while limiting sweets and carbs a bit.

Oh, and I gave up sodas almost completely. Mostly, I just drink water or coffee now.
