a Japanese musical instrument. My Japanese American sister plays the Koto.

someone in the comments says Chinese. I figured some one here would know what it is. The consensus so far seems to be Japanese and that she, of course, rocks!

There is a whole family of Asian instruments that are all pretty similar. Koto (Japan), gayageum (Korea), guzhang (China), yatga (Mongolia), etc... Western equivalent is the zither.

I doubt ANYone gets into costume and does a stage act to record in the studio.


as far as musicianship--ya, they're good. and they're adorable.

but no comparison.

execution are fine, but the drum track is lame. Triplet based rhythm, ala Mitch Mitchell would give it a fine edge.

love that "in the zone" look, total concentration, total mastery of their instrument.
