Anyone Know of a National Carpool Service?

My Mom is going to have eye surgery and her Doctor told her he did not want her driving for at least 4-6 weeks. I was curious if anyone here knows about any National Car pool services. I put an add up over the weekend on erideshare but so far, no calls. What makes this a bit more difficult is my Mom works part time so does not work full days and only 4 days a week. Just curious if anyone here has any suggestions. I thought about putting an ad in a local paper of ours but not sure if that would be a good idea or not. If anyone has any suggestions or advice,I would appreciate it. Many thanks!

I'm bumping this in hopes some people can give me some advice. SO far I have tried erideshare and nuride with no success. I even called my local senior center and explained the situation to them and they had no suggestions. Only thing I have not done is put an add in our local newspaper. Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated!

If it's to/from work, is there a park and ride or a transit center nearby where you could hang a sign or ask around? What about calling her employer to see if there are any co-workers near enough to give her a lift?

I ask because there's probably a better service option if she's near a major metro area. All she would need in DC for example to be eligible for MetroAccess (disability rideshare) is a letter from the Dr. and to fill out the paperwork. She'd also get a free bus-pass. Most parts of the country have those sorts of disability services provided you're not talking the middle of rural Kansas.

They're not free, but they might as well be. I think MetroAccess is like $2 per ride and you have to make appointments for your pick-ups 24 hours in advance.

She is looking for someone to pick her up at home and then at work. She lives off a very busy street and works in a very bust area so I can't help thinking someone near her probably drives by her house when she needs to be picked up and goes by or near her office. Since she is part time at gets off work at one o'clock in the afternoon, that will be a lot trickier. She has no problem paying for gas for the entire week or something. Definitely not looking for a free ride 4 days a week. Running out of options and am thinking about putting an ad in one of the local papers. Thanks for the replies!
