I saw a spirit in the mist above me...Lucky it didn't attack my RC Helicopter!

I wish I had caught it on camera but it lasted all of 4-5 seconds...

I have a RC helicopter & when I'm not fixing it from a crash or waiting on parts I sometimes get to fly it.

Just getting a new motor broken in & I felt confident enough to fly above my house. It was a light foggy morning along the Columbia River here just outside of Portland. I had just gotten to about 30 feet & I saw a bid approaching-a big bird. no wait- a HUGE bird!.

Body was about 5 ft & wingspan 7' -white head & dark body. Bald eagle flew right over my copter!

And the way he glided by-I can definitely see why they were considered spirits by the people of the land.


One of those surreal moments. I see them from a distance in the Gorge areas but I rarely see them over the populated zones. Guess he was just hiding in the fog looking for a tasty poodle or something...
