My space heater must be smoking a little; I think my eyes are getting irritated.

The teddy bear had been given to her mother before the young woman was even born, and she'd had it her entire life. By this point, the teddy bears head had been ripped off, it was missing most of its stuffing, its eyes, nose, and an ear were missing, so there really wasn't much left of it.

The fiancee spent more than a month digging through images of vintage teddy bears to find a similar one and figure out what it originally looked like. After he found it, he took it to a "Teddy Bear Hospital", which completely reconstructed it for him.

That's not a copy of her childhood teddy bear, it's her actual childhood teddy bear restored to its original condition.

The full story is on the youtube page for the video.

I still have my 40 year old "Teddy Dog" sitting on a shelf, and I've thought about having it restored a few times (our family dog found it and used it as a chew toy back when I was in college, so it's in rough shape). I think it's pretty cool that there are businesses that specialize in restoring old stuffed children's toys. For many people, their old teddy bears are one of their last connections to their childhoods.

"The camera was rolling on Christmas Eve as Jessica opened her gift. At first, she thought the bear was just a joke!

"Vas said, “It's because I love you with all my heart and no one can replace me except for this."

"She said, “My next thought was to reach into the box for my real Christmas gift."

"Then, it hit her. She said, "I smelled him and knew exactly what it was!"
